healthy Home Course

Creating a Healthy Home | Course

Our home is our castle and for most of us, it is the biggest financial investment we will ever make. Despite the fact that we spend up to 90% of our time in buildings, few of us are aware of the hazards that lurk inside our home. Since World War 11 we have unleashed a plethora of chemicals not seen in the history of mankind. Could these be related to the epidemic in childhood allergies, asthma, infertility and breast and testicular cancer? In this course you will learn about the common health hazards that exist in your home from dust and dustmite, electromagnetic fields, chemicals in cleaning and personal care products, to building materials and mould. You will also learn about the the concerns associated with plastics (cookware, building materials, drinking water bottles, clothing...), the contaminants likely to be in your drinking water, how tap water can exacerbate skin problems, and the most appropriate water filters to consider. If you or your loved ones suffer from allergies, asthma or you want to create a healthy home for your family, then this is the course for you! The course provides practical and cost effective ways to avoid or reduce one's exposure to these hazards in order to create a home that supports your mind, body and soul.

There is one subject in the course: Sick Building Syndrome. You can do this subject in Melbourne or Sydney (its called Modern Feng Shui) OR via correspondence. Expect around one day per week over 14 weeks to complete this subject. The cost includes a comprehensive manual, DVDs of the lectures, a loan pack of DVDs and access to a tutor for the duration of your studies.
