What is Feng Shui?
Feng
Shui is most commonly pronounced Fung Shway, Fung Shoy or Fung Soy
(depending upon which part of Asia you come from). The literal meaning
is "Wind Water". Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese art of
placement and arrangement of space to bring happiness, success and
harmony into a person's life. For a place to have "good feng shui"
it is said to be in harmony with nature. Competent Feng Shui practitioners are able to psychologically profile a site and inform the client as to what is going in every facet of their life without any input from the client. As such, they require a solid practical and theoretical training in the traditional schools of Feng Shui which are: Form School, Compass School and the Flying Star School as well as a good working knowledge on the most ancient of all Feng Shui schools - Geomancy.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE ACCREDITED?
National accreditation was sought after complaints from the public regarding adverse results after having a feng shui consultation. Upon further investigation, it became apparent that many of these practitioners had been self taught and/or had only attended up to one week of training with little or no field experience. Around 25% of the audits conducted by our lecturers and graduates are as a result of complaints by the public regarding feng shui consultations conducted by other practitioners.
- Equivalent to the ISO9000 standard in businesses, it took the college two years to comply with accreditation in order to ensure that graduates received the highest level of training available both practically and theoretically to be deemed competent in the Feng Shui industry.
- Graduates of the college receive the only government recognised tertiary qualificaton that is recognised at all tertiary institutions Australia wide.
- Not only do all of our lecturers have to be experts who are successful in their industry, they must also have a teaching qualification to be able to teach a nationally recognised course.
- In order to attain accreditation, the course had to include extensive practical field training (both in residential and commercial properties) as well as detailed theory in order to ensure that graduates were competent and confident practitioners. As such this is the most comprehensive Feng Shui course in Australia (700 hours).
- The course is Austudy approved so that eligible students may receive government funding whilst studying this course.
- In order develop a successful career in the Feng Shui industry, graduates complete a comprehensive business plan taught and designed by a variety of experts in the small business industry.
- Students are eligible to join the Association of Feng Shui Consultants at the highest level.

Career
Opportunities
Most Feng Shui consultants work in private practice. Their clientele
will generally range from residential homes, to businesses and corporate
clients. After several years of practice, some of our graduates have
been employed to teach at the college. The college actively promotes
a graduate's business by referring the public to the consultant's
section of this website (this is free to our graduates in exchange
for a report).
A Feng Shui consultant is commonly asked to provide insight into the
following issues:
* Why a business is struggling financially and how it can be improved
* Ideas on merchandise positioning to maximise sales
* Why a house feels unhomely and what can be done
* To determine if the building is contributing to health problems
such as fatigue, insomnia and chronic respiratory tract infections
* To create a sacred space when people move into the house
* Placement of furniture in each room of the house
* To clear an entity from a building
* Landscape recommendations
* Renovation ideas
* Many other reasons!
